Matthew William Keyser
KEYSER, Matthew William
Age 8
Of Sturgis Michigan

was surrounded by his family at his home Sunday afternoon, October 30, 2005 when he went to be with his Lord and Savior. He was born December 28, 1996 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, a son to Keith and Holly (Palmer) Keyser. Matt was a third grade student at Eastwood Elementary School in Sturgis, where he excelled in academics. He liked all sports especially playing soccer, baseball, basketball and running cross country. Matt was an avid dedicated fan of the University of Michigan. He enjoyed going to Camp Fort Hill, playing at Omena Lake, spending time with his many friends and he loved animals, especially the family's Golden Retriever Daisy. Matt had a true love for his God and was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, where he loved to sing to the Lord. His parents had many reasons to be proud of Matt with his excellence in academics and sports, but what always made Keith and Holly most proud was Matt's sincere generosity and the joy he found in helping others. He is survived by his parents, Keith and Holly Keyser; 2 sisters, Alexandra Keyser and Kelsey Keyser both at home; grandparents, Jerry and Karen Keyser of Sturgis, and Mary Lanning of Sturgis; uncles, Randy and Pam Keyser of Goshen, IN, Mark and Denise Keyser of Sturgis, David and Christine Palmer of Mason, OH; aunt, Lynley Mincy of Brighton, MI; cousins, David, Mitchel, Katie, Andrea, Rachel and John Keyser, Seairra, Morgayne and Jackson Keyser, Salome and Jonathan Palmer and Rachel and Isabel Mincy; and great-grand mother, Barbara Lanning of Wildwood, FL. His grandfather, Kenneth Palmer, and great-grandparents, Earl Lanning, Kenneth and Elizabeth Keyser and Harold and Vina Bowman, preceded him in death. The family received friends at the Holy Angels Catholic Church, 402 S. Nottawa Street, Sturgis Wednesday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 2:00-4:00 & 6:00-8:00 p.m. A Vigil service was held at the Church Thursday at 7:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass celebrating the life of Matthew Keyser will begin at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 4, 2005 at the church.
