(matt...matt...matt...matt) said junuhel, brevin, jacob, and many more. matt went up in the front to show us his major talent of burping the abcs and ..DA it was awesome. everytime i see any of his friends i think about there oddd way of manly and brotherly wierd love. but its a good thought because its one of those memries that well never be able to forget.

Hi, my name is Devyn May and i was in Matts 2nd grade class as you know. im in a clip below where im singing a song about Matt. Matt was a pleasure to have in class and a joy to have in the world. I miss him terribly, but i'm definetly not the only one. He was the only one who could burp the abcs and the only one who understood everything. A superstar in math, and a all-star soccer player. Someone who you oughta know. And if i could have changed one thing before he left it would have been telling him that he was a major part in my life and he always wiil be. Even though hes not here in the flesh he'll always be in my heart. And i do miss him since the day he left. October 30th (my birthday). I just wanted to say Matt is still someone i always think about... in a good way! LOVE DEVYN

I always told Matt there was no crying in soccer. One season while coaching Matt in the peewees I had him in goal getting ready to demonstrate a drill. All the parents were there. I asked Matt "What is the first thing I always tell you"? Matt answered, "There is no crying in soccer". The correct answer was take one step out from the goal. Kids always want to stand on the line. I'm sure everyone thought I was a tough coach.

Matt always like to give things away and help others. He constantly was helping in the classroom and was always willing to be a friend to anyone that needed one. When our school was doing a penny drive Matt went around to his neighbors and collected a pail full of money. He wasn't told to, he just did it! He raised a lot of money and was very proud of his earnings!

When I think of Matt, this story always comes to mind. About a year ago, it was my turn to do the morning school run. I picked up Matt and headed into town. Matt talked non-stop!!! I laughed because his sisters never say a word. I told Matt that we were going to Disney and asked him what his favorite ride was. He said "Test Track!!" The next 5 minutes were filled with Matt's exciting recount of the "most awesomest" ride in the entire world. My girls agree with Matt. It is the MOST AWESOMEST ride ever! When I pick up Alex and Kels, I often think of Matt and know the car pool ride into school would not be quiet if we had Matt in the van too! :)

One day I was over at the Keyser's house. I remember Matt coming up to me with a picture in his hand. With grin on his face he said here, this is for you. I took it and looked at it. It wasn't the most beautful thing in the world, with stickers every which way, some even overlaping each other, but I still took it and kept it. :) I have a box where I save papers and stuff and the other day I was looking through it. I forgot I had put the picture in there and when I ran across it I simply stopped what I was doing and took a minute to think. I thought about all the awesome and fun times I shared with Matt and your family. I am so greatful for that picture and the memories it helps me remember.

One of Grandpa's favorite stories was when Matt was playing indoor soccer in Granger, Indiana. He was having an awesome game and was driving toward the goal, he'd already scored a few. He had an open shot and right when he was going to take it, he saw his teammate Megan standing in front of the goal. He passed it to her and she scored her first goal. She was beaming. Grandpa was really proud of him that day.

March 2002. Holly and Matt were discussing why Judas hung himself on a tree. Holly explained that Judas was trying to punish himself for betraying Jesus. Holly explained that if Judas had asked God for forgiveness he probably would have received it. Then I told Matt that to take one's own life was one of the worst things you could do to God. Matt then told me that he wasn't going to die until God wanted him to because he wasn't going until his place in Heaven was ready. And it takes a lot of work to get my place ready because it is in the clouds. Also he told me that he and Faith, the cat, would live the longest in our family because they are the youngest now.

While on a business trip to New Jersey in the winter of 2004, I was looking for something cool to buy for Matt's birtday. The town was very old with a town square, the snow was coming down in big tumbles of white puffs. Through the falling snow, I spotted a store displaying soccer equipment. I went in and look around - there were some of the coolest tie dye looking socks I'd ever seen - so I bought the black and white ones. When Matt's birthday came around, I gave him the socks - he seemed to like them - hard to tell with Matt, he was often less than demonstative with his feelings! Later that spring, he was particularly insistant about me coming to his soccer game. There he was in his soccer socks, looking different than any other player. He saw me and gave me that little smirk of a smile to let me know that the socks were special to him and so was I!

Well, we all know how much Matt loved ketchup! One morning I asked the boys what they wanted the chef to make for them and the three of them jumped up and down yelling french toast, french toast! So that is what the chef did for them. Well, when I was done preparing the food and getting Matt, Nick and Jacob all settled into their seats for a fabulous breakfast, Matt looked my way with a straight face and asked for the katchup? I laughed like I always did at Matt and went on my way. Well, when I came down to see what they where laughing at sooo loud about, it was Matt and his bottle of katchup!! He talked Jacob into believing he was not joking about the katchup!! And from that day on I always had a bottle of ketchup on the table for when Matt arrived!

One of my favorite stories about Matt is when he was going to the garage sales in the neighborhood and came back with a bunch of coffee cups for his mom because he knew she loved them so much. Little did he know that his mom had just gotten rid of many of her coffee cups because she had too many. So precious!!
